Scraper Winch Motors

Marthinusen & Coutts' AC department undertakes the rewinding and refurbishment of scraper winch motors for the mining industry. The winch assembly department is responsible for the assembling of all winch motors to specification. Calibrated equipment is used in the assembling department such as bearing heaters, a torque wrench to ensure that bolts are not undertightened etc. Flange modifications are carried out to older motors to ensure maximum strength and rigidity of the motor fit to the winch. Bearing modifications from Imperial to Metric are carried out to ensure a more cost effective repair to older motors. Marthinusen & Coutts is an accredited SKF bearing strorage, handling and fitment centre.

Vibrating Motors

Vibrator motors are specilaised motors. The specifications regarding the bearings, shaft and housing tolerances are vastly different from normal motors.
To ensure that vibrator motors have been correctly assembled, Marthinusen & Coutts load tests all vibrator motors on a specilised test bed.

Axial Vent Fans

This department undertakes the repair and refurbishment of axial vent fans. The fans are tested on the most modern state of the art conical inlet test columns, ranging from 305mm to 1016mm. Full speed balancing of fans is carried out. Computer generated performance test reports accompany all repaired fans.
